"One of my favourites, too - Taika Waititi is a fantastic filmmaker, and I agree - Hela and Valkyrie are outstanding. I also love the Hulk, though. He's always been one of my favourite characters, ever since childhood, and I think this movie makes better use of him than any of the other MCU movies."

"I love Michelle Yeoh - she's one of my all-time favourites. I agree, she'd have been amazing as The Ancient One! I have seen some of Star Trek: Discovery - my husband is a huge fan of that show. It does seem to have great characters!"

"Hi Carla - thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed both the movie and my column. I see your point about Sherlock's attitude to emotion, but here, I decided to examine it within the context of this story - in the spirit of the movie. As it's not part of the Sherlock Holmes canon (nor is the source material), I considered only what was in the film itself, if that makes sense.
I think you're right, that we're seeing more movies made that either directly confront sexism, or take great steps in avoiding it completely - and it's particularly interesting to compare them to the films of just 10 years ago. As you say, doing so helps us see where our inherent biases and programmed expectations come from.
Thanks for the heads-up about C.C Winchester - I'll follow back - and congratulations on the Biden-Harris win! Brilliant to have some good news for a change!
Best wishes,
Sarah"

Commented on Feminist Flicker - Decoding Sexism In Movies:
"Hi! It certainly is a very particular type of movie. It's like a celebration of testosterone. I mean, I'm a life-long Keanu superfan, but I'll also be the first to admit that he's made some deeply misogynist movies. 'Replicas' and 'Siberia' are among the most extreme examples of that.
Thanks for reading, and reaching out!
Sarah Myles"
